Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
Greetings, fellow gardeners of health!
I'm Tiffany Mindigo, a Family Nurse Practitioner, and the seed planter behind Sown Health. Born into the youthful embrace of my parents, my life's garden faced an early pruning with the loss of my baby sister and my parents' divorce. My wellness journey really sprouted at 19, a time when I felt constantly wilted and unimpressed by prescriptions that failed to nurture my body. I believed that if I could find a new path, I could sow seeds of health for myself and others. I sought a place that served everyone in life's in-between—the everyday, from our sunrise to our sunset in this life. A place that truly listened and met people where they were. I wanted to be seen and understood as a whole person, not just the parts I presented in an office. I was already balancing life with a Chiari Malformation, Migraines, and multiple food and chemical sensitivities! No one seemed to understand the challenges of it all.
So, I set out to cultivate change! My journey led me to explore alternative therapies and holistic remedies.
As the years blossomed, I found myself facing the untamed thicket of divorce, emerging as a single mom to three bright buds. To navigate this verdant landscape, I sought refuge in the hallowed halls of higher education, cultivating a career to prune the financial brambles and make a way for healing.
I chose nursing, the closest role I could find to providing holistic care, earning my B.S. in Nursing in 2012 and M.S. in Nursing in 2018, both from Mount Carmel College of Nursing. Along the way, I branched out to support families further by becoming a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) in 2013. In 2020, I deepened my health coaching skills (ACE Certified Health Coach), completed my Faith Community Nurse (FCN) Curriculum and Holy Yoga Instructor Certification (C-HYI). In 2022, I completed my National Board Certified
Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) Certification, Yay! I'm currently adding the final touches to my Functional Medicine, Family Herbalist, and HeartMath Certifications. My work has always centered on families, and I wanted skills that could flourish in any setting to serve in every possible way.
Over the years, amidst the blooms of responsibility, I have felt the creeping vines of inadequacy and shame, choking out any chance for joy. When life's storms threatened to uproot me with health scares in 2021, I sought solace in faith and wellness, planting seeds of healing and growth in the fertile soil of my soul to truly embrace what it means to seek wholeness. I journeyed through new labels such as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, POTS, Dystonia, Dysautonomia, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, TMD, and a few other weeds! I had to remember that these things don't define who we are, they are just clues into finding the root of the problem! I more deeply understand the complexities of how our mind, body, soul, heart, and home impact our overall sense of wholeness.
My life has not been all weeds and wilderness! My greatest enjoyment is leading and educating my three girls, watching them grow into the wonder that God created them to be! Of course, I also love educating others on how to live in wholeness! I have founded multiple businesses and serve as a Functional-Integrative Nurse Practitioner & Restoration Lifestyle Coach with Sown Health. When I am not busy homeschooling & making house calls, I enjoy daydreaming about the ocean, baking gluten-free treats, continuing my studies of various holistic healing modalities, and requesting way too many library books!
I truly hope that you will find Sown Health to be a nurturing place for your family and a blessing in your life.
